Back to School Essentials

Phew – we made it through the first couple weeks of school. One of my biggest challenges is packing a lunch – and then praying that the entire contents have been eaten.

There are so many other struggles with back to school, like messed up sleep schedules and waking kids. So forget about the kids adjusting, back to school is just as hard on mommies and daddies.  Here is my round up of back-to-school essentials for the whole family.

1.A great lunch box – I recommend Thermos!

two-school-lunches-fmlAhem. I know that Urban Mommy Elisa loves making lunches as much as I do (that’s sarcasm).  T-minus less than 2 weeks into school and Elisa’s kids have already lost their lunch boxes!!! Consequently, she has had to kick it old school, by packing lunches in plastic bags. Ugh on so many levels.

The awesome folks at Thermos were generous enough to send me a Finding Dory Lunch Kit, FUNtainer Bottle and FUNtainer Food Jar for review and I have to say that my almost 5 year old is over the moon.  I love it too! There is a ton of room in the Lunch Kit so I can pack a variety of containers for my little guy`s lunch.  The FUNtainer has also been a big hit.  My son can now take hot foods to school too.

2. A good pick me up – I recommend Essential Mints (for parents or college-aged students only)

I just came across these awesome peppermints infused with caffeine.  Apparently, if you have 5 Essential Mints, it is equivalent to one cup of coffee.  I tried them they tasted great and I did get the pep I needed.

They’re also vegan, gluten-free, free of GMOs and made with the highest quality, raw ingredients.

Now where were these mints when I needed to get through my university exams!

3. A good cup of tea – I recommend DAVIDsTea (for parents and older children)

Not only does DAVIDsTea have delicious flavours and great pick me up choices like Mocha Latte, they also offer some great accessories like these fun tea sachets.  They are great to throw them in your purse and brew a cup of tea whereever you are, on the go.

I also love this fun school bus called Road Trip teas which offers 3 great tea choices in the pack.

I think this would make an awesome teacher`s gift – so two thumbs up from me.
